Oh Christmas Tree,

sweet Christmas tree,

I am thankful you are mine.

I think of you and Christmas all the time.

For when I imagine my twinkling tree,

I instantly fill with holiday esprit,

recalling the cheer and glee,

of celebrating with beloved friends and family.

The time between the last pine needles on the floor,

and holiday guests once again knocking at the door,

always seems quite brief,

thanks to you I believe.

For in the spring, summer and autumn months,

no matter what life’s lumps,

I may still gaze upon you happily.

shimmering my mind’s eye you will always be,

and there I dreamily recount past Christmas memories,

awaiting the first crisp day and falling leaf,

to plan out the year’s holiday meals and activities,

but most importantly,

the joyful of trimming of our Christmas tree,

shining bright for all to gather round and see,

finally, you are again no longer a reverie.
